Turkey identifies three cases of Delta Plus coronavirus variant

Turkish Health Minister Fahrettin Koca said that Turkey has identified three cases of the new Delta Plus coronavirus variant in three provinces, state-run TRT Haber reported on Tuesday.

The separate Delta variant had also been identified in some 284 cases across 30 provinces in the country, the country’s top health official said.

“The   Delta   Plus   variant   was   seen   in   three   people   in   three   separate   provinces including Istanbul,” Koca told reporters on Monday.

“These people have not been vaccinated and are in good condition,” he added.

Turkey eased pandemic restrictions on July 1 and conducts a vaccination program with more than a million shots per day.
