British Defence Secretary to discuss Sweden’s and Finland’s NATO bids with Turkey

Britain’s Defence Secretary Ben Wallace said on Wednesday that he would visit Turkey next week to discuss Islamic State and Syria, Sweden’s and Finland’s NATO applications – which Ankara opposes – as well as exports of grain from Ukraine, Euronews reported.

British Defence Secretary Wallace is planning an official visit to Ankara next week in order to address a number of issues including Sweden’s and Finland’s NATO bids.

It is important to listen to Turkey’s concerns over Sweden’s and Finland’s NATO application, Euronews cited Wallace as saying.

Britain also sees Turkey as a possible guarantor of any deal for shipping channels to get grains out of Odesa, Wallace added
