No deaths in explosion during Turkish, Russian joint patrol in Idlib - Turkish Defence Ministry

A Turkish-Russian joint military patrol in Syria’s Idlib province was hit by an explosive device on Tuesday, the Turkish Defense Ministry said in a statement.

There were no fatalities in the explosion, which paused partial damage to two military vehicles, it said.

The statement by the ministry follows reports that three Russian and several Turkish soldiers were wounded in the attack, citing the Russian Reconciliation Center for Syria.

"The joint Russian-Turkish patrols will continue with all necessary measures being taken," the ministry said.

The joint patrols are part of the ceasefire agreement made on March 5 by Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdoğan to end fighting in Idlib between Turkish-backed rebel forces and the Syrian military, which is backed by Russia.
