Indian police arrest Turkish man over drug trade
The Indian police arrested a former Turkish commando for selling drugs to foreign tourists in the southwestern state of Goa on Friday, the Times of India reported.
The Indian narcotic police started surveilling Murat Taş after receiving a tip-off about the Turkish man’s involvement in drug trade.
Taş was apprehended by the police after some banned drugs were founded in his rented room. He was formally arrested after it was confirmed that he was engaged in selling banned substances.
Taş told police that he started peddling drugs internationally after he completed his obligatory two-year military service in the Turkish army.
Taş has also travelled to Bahrain, Russia, Georgia, Sri Lanka, Germany and many other parts of the world, the Indian police said.
